This past week, two new blogs launched that I'm very proud to be associated with in some small way. One is the new DC Metro Moms Blog, founded by my friends at the Silicon Valley Moms Blog. They recently successfully launched the Chicago Moms Blog as well. There are plans in the works for a New York City Moms Blog, so if you're a mom blogger who lives in the NY metropolitan area and would like to contribute, contact me, and I'll put you in touch with my blogtrepreneur friend, Jill Asher, who is taking the blogging world by storm! There are some great writers on both of these new sites, and I had a chance to meet a few of them at BlogHer.
I'm also contributing to a new blog called Moms Speak Up, founded by Izzymom. This blog is a space for moms to speak out about political issues that we think our countries leaders should address. Toy recalls, healthcare, education...whatever is on our minds that we think needs to be discussed. Stop by and check it out!
I've also signed up with the Parent Bloggers Network and will be reviewing products here and over at my review site, The Silent I Speaks. Watch for my upcoming review of Nina Garcia's Little Black Book of Style, in which I go from fashion-disaster to...well, let's just say I learned that I'm not as hopeless as I thought.
Last, but certainly not least, I'd like for everyone to join in the effort to cheer on DC Metro Mom, Whymommy of Toddler Planet in her battle against Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Many bloggers are sporting these "Team Whymommy" buttons in her honor, as a way to inform others about this disease and to offer her our support. Please click through and learn more about this.
We're off to Austin this weekend for family, food and fun. Hopefully, we won't need to call 911.
